I was leaving an Oreck store after picking up my vacum from service. I was approached by 2 white males in a white chevrolet avalanche claiming that the shipper of these expensive home theater system speakers messed up the order and sent more than what was ordered and they did not want to take it back to their store. They showed me a business license and a catalog. I told them I did not want them as I already had a home theater system. They became very pushy and asked me to look at the product. They parked next to me and showed me what they had. One guy then placed the item in my car as I spoke with the other individual. They asked me what would be the most I would pay. I stated I had no cash. They said no problem, there is a bank nearby (across the street). I still did not really want (or need) the item but they said you already have it in your car, it is yours! One of the men Derek got in the passenger seat of my car and the other man Chris led me to the bank across the street. I withdrew the $500.00 and paid Derek at the bank. Derek then handed me a business card and instructed me on how to get the warranty but to only contact himself or Chris if warranty service was needed. I feel like an idiot! I was cursing myself all the way home. Then I checked this out on a google search. I was scammed! Now I am angry. At myself and these scoundrels who prey upon innocent people. Beware and do not let this happen to you. I am spreading the word and have notified local law officials. I believe that karma will win in the end!
