I was contacted via cold call by Royal Members to puchase my timeshare for 21,500. Andy told me that no front money would be needed. He explained that my past due maintenance fees and payoff balance would have to be paid prior to closing but that the buyer would reimburse those monies thru escrow payments after closing. I told them that I could not pay this amount (a little over $5000). He said that they would pay all but $1000 that they would secure with a promisory note from me, payable after closing after I received my funds for the sale. I agreed to all of this until I read here about experiences that 2 other people had with these companies. After reading those, I called Andy and told him that I would not be paying any money to anyone but would be happy to pay their commission and reimburse whatever money they had paid on my behalf once I received funds from the sale. He said he would check and see if they could include that last $1000 and proceed with the sale. He gave me no static or problems at all. However, I feel sure that I will receive a call from "someone" to try to continue the deal somehow. I thank those people who put their experiences in here for me to find. You probably saved me $1000. All the contact numbers and addresses were the same for me as in their complaints. The names of the people that I talked to were Andy Baca and Royal Members and Marlene Rodriguez at Ryan and Ross.
