I signed up for Christian Mingle after seeing a tv advertisement. I thought, how bad can a christian website be, after having encountered many scammers on other dating websites...plenty of fish...match.com. Well it didn't take long. I was a free subscriber, got my first e-mail and realized I could not respond without paying money. So I signed up for one month. Well don;t you think the e-mail was from a scammer? Nice good looking all American man,,,,fluent profile but the e-mail was broken English and a little too charming for a first e-mail. It what we all want to hear but really...when they immediately divert you to their personal e-mail and talk sweet to you as if you have been their lover for months....it is a serious red flag. I immediately called Christian Mingle and told them and requested my money back. It had only been 20 minutes since I subscribed. I was told that they reviewed my account and nothing was odd about the e-mail. Apparently, the MAN I was talking to had never been scammed by a charming man before. I was appalled and then was told that I could not get my refund for 4-6 weeks. The operator had no idea how long it would take for the request to get processed nor did he know how long it would take for the refund to be processed. Initially, he stated that he needed to check their policy because there were no refunds. It was not until I mentioned that the sign up page said I had 3 days to get my money back if I wasn't satisfied. Then he came back to the phone and said he had no way of refunding me over the phone. I insisted on a supervisor....well, let me see if one is available. I said I would hold on until one was available. Miraculously, he was able to give me my refund back. I was so irked that he did not give 2 cents that I was upset about the service and told me there was nothing wrong. He did apologize in the end AFTER the supervisor would not come to the phone and I threatened to call the news channel from which I had originally seen the advertisement and call the Better Business Bureau. It is funny how their tune changed. In the end...all dating websites are the same. A bunch of people looking for love in the eyes of the innocent while others are getting scammed by naivety. Never again.
