I had been a craigslist constant user as I find the price reasonable to get stuff I need from work not until this horrifying experienced of being scammed. I saw this ad for iphone 4 $300 and I emailed if the phone was available however the person who owns it is in Vancouver Canada.

Fellow craigslist user beware of this email content. They will provide you with the details and will be receiving an invoice even a technical test for the IPHONE 4. Plus the payment and shipping details. However once you paid thru western union in parcel2g0 with an agent in charge of your account in Bolton, UK. You had just been RIPPED OFF!

The iphone is factory unlocked. It works with AT&T.
I was checking for a way to make the exchange from here to you in the US and I came across this option, which is a very good way to make this exchange.
It's provide by a company called Parcel2Go and it will help us with this transaction.
They seem designed specifically for internet transactions, they handle both the payment and delivery part of this transaction. They seem pretty nice and trustworthy and they provide a service that we can use for our exchange.
The link below is from the Parcel2Go website and it explains their procedure. Please check the link and the procedure and let me know if you agree to the terms.

http://www.ship-parcel2go.eu/en_language.internet.transactions/index.html

With this procedure Parcel2Go will deliver the iphone to you, receive your payment and I will receive the payment for the iphone only after you instruct them to do so.
I will pay the shipping.
Let me know if we can proceed.

Let us all be aware that parcel2go is a legit business in UK and has been a common method used by scammer to get money. I did inquire with parcel2go but no agent with such name exist. Everything looks legit, you will receive an order invoice, the link so BEWARE!

I will post more...I just want this person be jailed..

  • What I wouldn't give to have read this yesterday! I am like yourself another victim of this fraud. I can't even explain how pissed I am that I am out of 300.00 and a lost of pride. I looked up this company and even researched the email of this fake person (amber Humphrey) and everyhing seemed to be legit! Its so sad that people can have no conscience. I just pray that the next person will not be fooled and the authorities will find this person.

Hi, I am getting back to you regarding the 55-inch Sony LED 3D TV, 1080p full HD from Craigslist

My name is Amber and I am now in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
The TV is still available and I hope you are still interested.
I am selling the TV for $450 USD. I have attached some pics with it to this email.
About the TV I can say it's in good shape, no dead pixels, no scratches, as you can see from the pics I've sent. Included in the $450 price is everything the TV came with when it was new, including the original manuals and warranty papers.
I tried to be as thorough as I could with the presentation so you can have all the info if you decide to go ahead and buy it. So what do you think? Do you want my TV?

    Thanks,
    Amber

  • Hi Robert,

I will return home in 16 months so that is not an option.

  • Hi everyone,
I just got lucky I guess. I was about to buy an imac from Craiglist Philadelphia for $400. The ad seemed too good to be true. However as desperate & greedy as I was at the moment, I wanted to believe in the ad. The seller sent me an email, word to word with the one above. He or she is in Vancouver BC for 16 months and cannot do the exchange physically. She /he gave me the link to the parcel2go as the one mentioned earlier. Instead of cliking on the link to check the site of "parcel2go", I googled the whole link. LOL, I found this site and many others and the whole scam. I am surprized how many people fell for it. I did some research (neotrace/mapquest) to localize this scambag. Well, I found where this little shit (sorry the language) lives. I want to know, whether there is a reinforcement authority to contact to take the investigation further. Your help to catch this person is appreciated. Ben

  • Here is my story, very similar to what has already been said. I will specially point out the pointers that alarmed me right from the first email.

I found a posting about iPad2 on Boston's craigslist. No further details, it said that an ipad2 is available for a very attractive price and it needs to sell ASAP. Upon further inquiry, I got a reply from 'Lindsey Stallman' that it is still available and if I was interested blah-blah. The first email had following problems

    1) The email address was from one of the kind that has a very high probability of being a scam, but I ignored it -- the iPad was so cheap that I wanted to ignore some of the little things.

    2) It was not a reply to my initial email, it was a new email and there was no reason that one would write a new email instead of just pressing the reply button. For the price of that iPad, I was willing to forgive it as well.

    3) The language in the email sounded very 'plastic' ... you sense when an email is written for you or when it

  • Hi Patricia,

Have you ever tried checking this site www.verify1st.com/justanswers.comwww.verify1st.com/justanswers.com. It probably gives you an idea whether the site has its good reputation or the other way around. You can check the website's identity and be able to know whether a website is a scam or fraudulent. It could be a great help in a way.
