I was approved for a personal loan in the amount of $5,000.00. I was told that I needed to purchase an insurance package encase of loss of job or disability. The cost of the insurance was $500.00 for the standard and $875.00 for the full coverage. We paid the $500.00 initially, when Aaron Johnson who was our original loan agent told me that after a final security check showed that the full coverage was needed before the loan would be released. The payment for the insurance was sent to the company from me in Greendot Moneypak; everything was done by telephone and email. After sending Aaron Johnson the money for the insurance he never answered calls or emails. We tried effortlessly to get him to return calls and then we were in contact with a Bobby Lewis who told us that Aaron Johnson had been suspended from the company without pay for illegal business acts of taking peoples money. That our $875.00 we had paid Aaron had somehow taken and the company was looking into things, but our loan was still in process, and we had to pay them $500 for insurance and that our original money would be refunded. Procedures for each time the Moneypak was sent to the agents was different which led me to believe that Aaron was corrupt, but because the second time I sent the information to the funding department and not to the agent. On Monday, February 27, 2012 Bobby Lewis called and said the fund had been issued and would be deposited into our account in a couple of hours. They never were. The funding department never returned emails, the agents never answers calls after they call to tell you the funds have been sent. No body ever gets into any one else's business. Between my wife and I, we have been able to gather what information we can on this business and how it all works, the various extension numbers, how this company is connected to the Granite Lending Group business in Santa Barbara or Roseville California as I have various names which I will list.

Mary Wilson ext. 005
Bobby Lewis ext. 007
Aaron Johnson ext 004
David (not sure of last name) ext. 003
Rob Johnson - may use the name Bruce - ext 235
All of the extensions for the Santa Barbara Office are 230 something

We have filed a complaint with the Los Angeles Better Business Bureau and were informed that we are not the only one to do so in the last couple weeks.
I willing to go as far as it takes with companies like this. Hoping that with all of the information I have saved and documents will help somehow. My next step and I hope others who were scammed by Granite Lending Inc will do the same, is to file a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office. Our state told us that filing both within our state and the state of California would be beneficial. I hope that people who do not know where to go to complain and what options there are for help first file with with BBB of Los Angeles and then the Attorney Generals Office. Keep complaining.
