I thought I was getting a free credit report for $1.00 for both my husband and myself, only to discover that I was being charged $16.95 a month from September, 2011 to present. A total of $171.50 was charged on my charge without my authorization. There was no phone number to call to protest. I called my credit card (Chase Bank) and they were well aware of this scram and gave me a phone number that I could reach an Experian representative. Chase remained on the phone while I spoke with Experian. I was informed that I had to write a letter of complaint to Experian, which I did. I hope something can be done.
