I received a check informing me that i was approved for a grant in this amount. The letter further states that this isn't a loan and can be used for anything I need.

Further, I'm told that a check for $3,900.59 is enclosed and that a certified check for the amount of $45,000.00 will arrive vias fedex, ups once their commission fee of $5,500.00 is deducted.

I'm told to contact Allen Water at (Personal Info Removed) immediately so that he can verify my file information and release the remaining grant. I was never able to reach him or any other associate.

I deposited the $3,900.59 check into my credit union account. Three days later I get a call from my bank informing me that the drawee bank "PNC" will not honor the check because it has been "altered". Unfortunately, this has resulted in my bank putting a hold on my account.
