I paid $150 to send a box full of used clothes and toys to Bogota, Colombia. When the box was delivered to the family, two new sneakers were missing, Nike and Adidas. I called the company, Martinez Cargo Express, to complained. The lady, Jennifer, that works in the office stated that I secured the box with $100 and they were to divide everything and then, pay whatever comes out to. For example, 1,000 items /$100= $10. I told her that I wanted to speak to the owner, Mr. Martinez, because it was not fair both sneakers cost $120. She said okay. I waited for two weeks and I had to call. Again I talked to Jennifer and she came up with another rule. She said that I only told them that there were old clothes and toys in the box but no new sneakers. I said that sneakers are part of "clothes" that you wear. She changed the conversation and said that they were going to investigate with the other company they use to send their cargos to Colombia. I had to call them few times and no answer just to wait and wait. Also they did not call back. I got tired of waiting and told Jennifer that I needed to speak to the owner, Mr. Martinez, and she said that she would give him my cell# to call me. He never called me and today, I called again. I spoke with Jennifer again and she came up with something else now. She connected me with the other company that they use to send cargo to Colombia. A lady said to me that they investigated and nothing came back. furthermore, she said that I did not tell the office that there were 2 new sneakers and that they can not compensate me. As before, I told them that sneakers are part of clothes that you wear. She had another meaning when it comes to clothes, shoes and sneakers. I told her and Jennifer that in the website of Martinez Cargo Express Company do not describe what it means by clothes, shoes, etc. I also said that at the office they never explain or give a paper describing the rules of what clothes include and not include. I said okay just compensate me with what ever the amount is that they think; a penny, a dollar, what ever and she said no. I told them since I was not going to be compensated, I wanted to speak with the owner, Mr. Martinez, to compensate me with that at least. And Jennifer said yes that she would give him my cell# again. I told her when I should be expecting the call and she said she does not know.
I would like this company, Martinez Cargo Express, to be expose to the truth. What they promote in the internet and on TV commercials is not the truth. They commercialize that they are responsible, reliable, and all these excellent qualities which are not truth. And if it's possible, I would like to get compensated, $120, because those sneakers were paid by two young men in colombia. They work hard for their money and wanted to have the sneakers to wear them to jog and compete, race. Thanks and hope you can help me with this so this won't happen to others.
