i'm selling my 93 chevy truck that needs engine for $1000. i get an email, telling me consider truck sold, last week. today recieved check via fed ex for amount of $3940.65 and emails telling me to cash or deposit check, keep out the $1000.00 + $100.00 for time spent running around + $another $40.00 for gas and mailing charges, then send the remaining ballace, via western union, to a john lipka at 25000 tanner lane, chantilly va 20152 and email them to araange for a mover to come and pick up the truck. check was made out from a johns hopkins university, in baltimore md. ccheck from a m&t bank, 2nd floor, amherst, ny 14228-0000. i took check to my bank, their 99% sure check isnt worth the ink on it. contacted local police, nothing they can do, contacted fairfax va police, transefered me to lyls county sherriff, their looking into it. i'm hoping to protect others from this type of scam because even i was tempted to cash that check but my brains told me something wasnt right about it.
