On the 2nd January 2012 whilst browsing on the Amazon site, a trial offer of a skin cream popped up. I clicked on the advert for a sample, the postage and packing was £2.50. There were two items which the advert said must be used together. I clicked the accept for both items which came up one at a time. I clicked for one which then said this entitled me to an eye-cream. Then it asked for my card details. I pressed for the stressed companion cream which came up with another entitlement, which I accepted. Then it asked for my card again.
Two weeks later the products arrived. Unfortunately they did not suit my skin so I did not use them.
Last week I saw a distressed lady on television, apparently she had ordered the trial offer and month after month it kept coming
and when finally she got her bank statement, hundreds of pounds had been taken out of her account.
This alerted me and I contacted the firm by email because they had taken £211.89 out of my account. I have tried telephoning, to no avail, and I have, as yet, received no reply to my emails.

I will just add that there was no indication of future involvement or any cost of an item if you wished to purchase. It appeared to be purely and simply a free trial.
