I received a call from a representative from Public Yellow Pages indicating that they had spoken with my husband who didn't have time to go through the process and asked me to go ahead and process a cancellation of our account. I was told that if I didn't cancel the account that day, we would be re-enrolled for this year at a much higher rate of $1500. I was told that the call was for cancellation and a final invoice would be sent for $599. I was linked to another rep who was going to record the cancellation process. I was told that I was only allowed to answer yes/no to the questions they asked and if I attempted to ask any questions I would be hung up on and billed for a continuing account. When my husband returned home I let him know I took care of it and this is when I find out we never had an account and he had no such conversation with anyone at Public Yellow Pages. This is when I realized that this was fraud...that I had just been duped. I sent an email to Public Yellow Pages directly on their site indicating that if they intend to pursue any such fees that they better be prepared to establish a previous relationship (contract, previous invoices, proof of payment, proof of services rendered). I am super upset that I feel for this.
