Quibids advertized penny auctions with examples of plasma t.v. selling less than half price but you bid to win it not buy it. This is similar but not the same as e-bay. In Quibids, the last ten seconds of the bidding is increase by each new bid, in essence, the last ten seconds can go on for 2 hours. One must buy a set dollar amount to start bidding, which I did.
A new account can start in a category of beginer auctions however the only item offered in this category were ridiculous such as $25 store gift cards. The majority of the beginners auctions was Quibids selling more Quibid bundles to add to your bidding account.
I scoped out the items in the regular auction. There was a lot of the same items being offered which I was not interested in having even as a gift for someone. Unlike as advertized, an occassional large ticket item appeared. I watched the auctions for a very long time.
When I saw an item to bid on I waited until the last as I had a set price I would pay. I made a bid and it was accepted - this adds time to the bid. Everything seemed to be working. But my second bid did not register. Eventually customer service emailed me the reason. "For my protection" so that I do not lose money by inexperience. I was prevented from bidding!
I forgot my password and they emailed me my username so that I might change my password. The email enclosed a link that took me to the site. I changed my password but forever, round and round, the site did not recognise me (email, username, password). They refuse to give me a refund. All this agravation just to be robbed.
I can't recommend anybody getting involved with them. They are rip-off artists and you will not find items they advertized, (always as auctioned already). It's too bad they got media coverage in a news room format which sort of lent some legitimacy to the venture.
