A supervisor and a professor sexually harassed me at work and it was reported to Human Resources. The supervisor made many comments about how applicants to their graduate programs wore skimpy clothes and tried to "use their breasts" to manipulate the interviewers. He also said that women's brains worked differently than men, in a derogatory way. He also tried to bring up sexual activity. Another professor tried to discuss porn with me.
I started being treated differently than other employees, and I had asked for my title to be reconciled to my duties. Because they were hostile toward women, my request for a title change was ignored. In addition, people were asking me about my religion, if I had a disability, my private health appointments, and other inappropriate questions outside of the guise of a working relationship. When they would not get me the type of mouse I needed for my laptop to prevent carpal tunnel symptoms, I decided to turn in my laptop. When I said I wanted to delete my e-mail records from that laptop, they accused me of trying to destroy data, although there was no evidence of that. All of the e-mails were on my other computer. The supervisors were simply so ignorant of how data is stored that they didn't know what deleting one record on your laptop does not delete it from the server or another computer.
