Can't believe I fell for this ... I heard the ad on the radio - "$1,000 in free groceries, and all you have to do is shop at your regular grocery store and buy anything you normally would as part of a "national stimulus program". When I called from my car, the rep rattled on and acted offended when I tried to squeeze in a question. He got pretty rude when he was unable to sign me up for various memberships and free trials that I only had to call within 30 days to cancel. When I asked him what the "savings" were exactly, and if it was coupons or such, I couldn't get a straight answer, just that it was "$1,000 in grocery savings on a gift card". I decided to give it a try and provided my credit card number to be charged $19.95, and I passed on the "$15 rebate" since it was also attached to a membership. After I got home, I googled the company, and it is all coupons. I also found this scambook site - thanks everyone, your shared stories are very helpful. I called the number provided 888-761-1039 and canceled immediately. I was assured that my card would not be charged and that I would receive nothing in the mail. Well, I am crossing my fingers and this is a valuable reminder for "If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is." I also sent an email to the radio station I heard the ad on and requested that they pull it immediately since people rely on them checking their ad content ...
