Today, 16 June 2011, I received an email from a seller on craigslist. I had sent an email of interest in this seller's Nintendo 3ds. She replied,

"Hey,
Sorry it took me a while to respond, but I sold it already, you might want to check out This Site I picked up 2 brand new ones for under $70.

Since the site is new no one is online, no one is bidding, it's like xmas all over again.
The trick is to bid only when the counter hits 4 seconds.

If I can do it anyone can.

Good luck
Maria"

I followed the link and it brought me to BidRack and I signed up with them before reviewing them. I gave them my credit card info (just an hour ago) and then thought "I should probably research them." I have now found out that countless others have gotten the exact same email and they have all received $99.00 charges! I am hoping that this writing will help others and I would really like to know if anyone can tell me what I need to do so that I don't get charged or atleast so I can get refunded?

The email of the craigslist person is:

  • I too received this after I submitted an inquiry to craigslist for Harrisburg, PA. Same GMail adddres, same message from 'Maria'. Disguised URL redirected to one of those too-good-to-be-true bidding sites.
