I received a phone call today from US Pages Online (9-1659). I was informed that a cancellation had been requested and that they were calling to verify our information so that I could get a cancellation reference number and a toll free number to call if we had any problems. I was hesitant so didn't give out the complete (or completely proper) information. When Sharon told me to hold the line, that I would be passed to her supervisor for the confirmation numbers, a woman named Kathleen came on. (and by hold the line I mean Sharon simply handed the phone over to the woman sitting next to her.) The woman then was asking me a lot of questions, spelling of my last name, which was totally wrong. Then they asked my bosses name, and I gave them his nickname and not one that appears on ANY bill we have ever received. She then informed me that they would be sending an invoice over for 649.95 for last years on line advertising. She was supposed to give me a confirmation number and everything like that but instead she hung up on me. I was feeling very uneasy about the phone call so Googled the number they called on (9-1659) and found out they were a scam. Thankfully I didn't give out any credit card numbers, account numbers, or emails. They ended up calling again saying I requested a phone call back. I told them no I was hung up on. When they tried to tell me I wasn't hung up on and continued to talk I interrupted them, told them I was hung up on, and told them that I knew this was a scam so I would no longer be dealing with them. The woman was all to quick to get off the phone with me. BEWARE! They are FAKE!
