A charge went through on my account for $24.95 from a location in Florida. I called to investigate the charge and my bank advised me to try calling that bogus 1 (888) number that showed up on my billing statement. As others have stated, the number rings for at least 15 minutes with no response. Last month I did remember receiving a call from some tellemarketer wanting me to verify the address of my debit card. I bank with a local credit union so I confirmed my address, thinking it was a legitimate phone call. Now I realize that confirming my current address may have been just the information they needed to scam me. I will be cancelling my debit card immediately.
