Golly - what cunning and disgusting sellers the people on the other end of the phone at this supposed 'company' really really are! And this is coming from someone who knows about marketing and selling, having worked in this field.
They were so very kind, chatty and authentic-seeming too; so shocking what they are doing to vulnerable people out there.
As a liberally- and experimentally-minded, social female I was hugely interested in what Ruby Companions (RC) claim to offer.
They went to the trouble of asking me for photos and even a synopsis of myself for my online profile. They acted so interested in me (and as I have lead quite an un-average life so far I was taken inby this). I was dealing with one lady supposedly called Adele through email and phone. They were very efficient and claimed to have been already investigating loads of potential people for me to meet with. They then told me about one man I was to meet on a Sunday evening... name, nationality, hobbies - and many other details they told me about him. They claimed he would call me to organise meeting point. They claimed VERY high pay from these meets including a free taxi to and from meeting place. They continued treating me really nicely even after I paid their initial registration fee (£250) to cover set up and maintenance/promotion of my profile (not sure why they did bother with that brief continued niceness). Then when I had not heard from the man I was forever trying to ring and email RC to let them know of this and find out what was going on and months down the line I still have heard not one word from them. The number just went dead when I tried to ring it.... it must have recognised my mobile number and so no to go dead to it.... as otherwise new people to scam would not be able to get through to them.
