We found an English Bulldog breeder in Atlanta, GA that was willing to ship a puppy to Alaska. The puppy was listed for $1,300 on their website. I contacted the people, the puppy was still available, that she would be $1,500 shipped to us, and they asked that we send the money via Western Union. I sent the deposit amount to get the paper work started. They then informed us that we needed to pay an additional $350 to have her sent to us because part of her trip would be via pet courier service because of the below zero temperatures in Alaska. I was agreeable to that and sent them the remaining money and the additional $350.
They contacted me the day we were supposed to receive our puppy and said they needed an additional $400 for the tests to have the puppy cleared to travel through Canada.
At that point red flags were waving and I requested my money back. I know for a fact the Well Dog Certification costs $125-$200 per dog. The company has a 5 day money back guarantee and it hadn't been more than 5 days before I requested our money back. They said they would send my money back via Western Union. I waited for the day they said they would send the money back and nothing. I have e-mailed with no responses and left messages with no return calls. I am firmly convinced I am not getting our money back. $1,500 for the dog, $350 for the ground courier service and $70 in Western Union fees.
Now we are out the money for our English Bulldog and we don't have our dog!
