My 57" Mitsubishi DLP HDTV developed "White dot syndrome" Basically, the DMD chip failed after barely 3 years of use, so I had these annoying white dots all over my screen. Called customer service on Dec. 3rd and was told I would have to wait 2 business days for someone to call me back. I called them back after no word from them in 3 days, only to be told that I would have to pay $250.00 for labor to fix it. I told the rep that I had been all over the internet and that there were hundreds, if not thousands of people with the same problem and that Mitsubishi had already admitted that the chips were faulty and in a few posts I read, people had had their tvs replaced by Mitsubishi for free. I told him that I ldidn't want to pay for anything having to do with the faulty chip and that my $3,000 tv should last longer than 3 years. He told me I would have to wait ANOTHER 2 business days for a supervisor to call me back. When this man called me, he offered no help whatsoever and even called me a liar in regards to what I said about other people having this problem. After several more phone calls over 4 weeks, I was fed up with them. I had been called a liar, lied to, had one rep threaten to hang up on me, and STILL had white dots on my tv. So I called again. Told them to send me the chip and I would fix it myself. They informed me that if I did that, they would never help with the tv again. I told them they weren't any help anyway, and to send me the chip. They told me they would mail it out the next day and that I would get a tracking number in my e-mail. Well, a week later, I had no tracking number, and no chip. Called them AGAIN. Was told that they had not sent my chip and that I would have to wait yet another 2 business days for a supervisor to call me back and tell me why....... Called them another week later and they told me it had been shipped and would be at my house the next business day. Got the chip 2 days later and fixed the piece of crap tv myself. They should not be allowed to treat people this way. Their product is junk and they don't stand behind it at all.
