On 01/02/2012, I authorized a single, one-time payment in the amount of $9.97 to the internet-based merchant, ebizpckg, for information related to working at home. (I found an employment post on Monster.com; which has since been removed.) After payment, I received a congratulatory email from James Franklin. The email contained the website (http://members.internetpayday.co), username (email address), password, transaction ID, and customer billing support phone number (866.955.9132). Since then, I have received multiple emails from ‘Mr. Franklin’, which encourage me to make other purchases as a means to help ‘grow’ my internet-based business (none of which I have taken advantage of).

The 01/02/2012 purchase for $9.97 was the only amount I authorized. However, on 01/10/2012, ebizpckg submitted a recurring charge to my bank in the amount of $65.99. Again, a recurring charge was never authorized and I have not made any purchases, aside from the initial $9.97 purchase, from this merchant. In my attempts to contact ebizpckg at the number provided in order to resolve the billing error, I was placed in a never-ending holding queue after the computer system answers the call. A real, live person has never answered. On the website, I tried clicking on the links to the various items, i.e. legal notices, privacy policy, etc., only to get pop-up windows with a 404 Error (page does not exist).

I have notified my bank and they have issued a temporary credit to my account while the transaction is being researched and investigated. This can take up to 90 days. Additionally, I requested that my bank not authorize any charges submitted by ebizpckg and that I be notified as soon as possible.

At this point, I do not know if I will incur additional charges; however, I am keeping a close watch on my account; and keeping a record of all hardcopy and/or electronic communications received by ebizpckg and my bank in order to file the appropriate police report(s) and take legal action to avoid further monetary damages.
