I got a message on my cellphone voicemail from a woman claiming to be named Shiela Wright, saying she was retained by her client to serve me with a court summons on the grounds that I was charged with "breech of contract for the purpose of defrauding a financial institution", and reffering to a "case #504709" and that I needed to call her back at 1-866-603-8661 to let them know the date where they can serve me at either my home or work place. I never got any written correspondence prior to this woman contacting me on my cell phone alerting me to a pending lawsuit. Anyway, I call that number and I was answered by a woman named Monica or Monique who also went through the speech that I was being sued for over $1700.00 for an unpaid internet payday loan from back in 2007. My choices were pay her $350.00 via debit card, pay her by installment a total of $575.00 or so, or have my day in court where they'll get me for over $1700.00 plus. I asked her what company she was with and she replied it was ACS Lawfirm. I asked her what company was suing me (I fell for this because I do have outstanding debts dating from 2007/2008 that I'm working off through the collection agencies and debt consolidation service), and she quickly said "CashNetwork" or something to that effect. When I asked her I didn't recall owing anymore payday loans from that period, she scoffed and said, "Most people do remember what their debts are", and "So your saying you don't want to pay us and you wish to be taken to court?" I told her I was trying to work with her, and she said, "YOU don't work with ME, I work with YOU", inferring that she was the one holding the cards in this situation and I had little to no options. So I agreed to pay the $350 in two installments of $175 each over the next two pay periods using my reloadable debit card. She said she was recording this agreement for her protection. What really got me that this person and company had all my personal info down to the social security number. Only after the fact did I do some internet research and found out some horrible things about these people calling up claiming to represent ACS Lawfirm and various other companies, who have complete info on all there intended victims, including work numbers, numbers of friends and relatives, etc., whom they call repeatedly even after being told to cease and desist. Other complaints about this operation says that the calls that come obviously from India make extreme threats beyond suing, which include threats of being sent to prison, property seizure, and even threats of violence and total defamation of character which they will pursue relentlessly until they get what they want. The calls that I got were not from India because I had those blocked on my cell phone, but were definately American. I've filed a report with the Fair Trade Commission with what information I was able to provide. I'm also trying to see who else who handles international fraud that I can report these people too because this ACS Lawfirm was actually a real lawfirm operating out of London, UK, who were unscrupulously sending threatening letters to people accusing them of internet copywrite infringement and illegal file sharing and that they were being sued for this. Many innocent people in England were extremely hurt and desimated by this ACS scumbag lawfirm, which supposedly went bankrupt and closed down recently. I want these perpetrators investigated and prosecuted vigorously to every fullest extent of every law around the world cause these monsters are global.
