A gentleman claiming to be with Publishers Clearing House called my mother. He stated that she had won 2 million dollars and a Mercedes convertible.
He said that all she had to do was write out a $1200 check for a portion of the taxes and the prizes were hers. She did a little investigating and found out this was a scam. If a prize was this large from PCH they would send out someone to present it personally (like on TV) or send a certified letter.
She actually has the phone number of the person who tired to scam her and I called it. He still holds to his story. His number is (Personal Info Removed) and goes by the name Michael Johnson. How to I report this to the proper authorities? What steps need to be taken at this point to stop him?
