My husband and I purchased a 2006 Chevy Malibu Maxx back in 2006, it was more or less brand new with only 30 miles on it.. We paid about 21,000 to 22,000 dollars total for the vehicle and it was paid off within 3 years because we wanted to buy a house.. Since we've bought the vehicle its been in and out of the dealership since 2006 with problems.. whether its a new gasket, oil leaks, etc... we have a papertrail.. I look at it as a lemon law and we were ripped off! We aren't satisfied with the vehicle for awhile now.. About 2 yrs ago we started taking the car to Walmart for oil changes just because it was cheaper than the dealer and Walmart kept stating to us there was a oil leak somewhere in the car so I brought it to the dealer several times to be looked at and they kept telling me there was no oil leak.. Instead of doing there job properly the first time I brought it in by putting dye in the car and checking it the right way they waited 2yrs with me paying 10dols for the dye and then finding the oil leak in the rear main seal leaking into the transmition so we then paid $350.00 for the oil leak when they wanted a $1,000.00 but I argued the point with human resources bc I felt it was their fault that was just done back in May of 2011.. Well, now my transmition blew and the car isn't even 6 yrs old.. I've argued for days with this company that I feel its their fault my tranny went due to the oil leak, they keep stating to me that it was a slow oil leak but their not getting that it was leaking for 2yrs in there.. The job cost $4,200.00 for a new transmition and they wanted us to pay $800.00, I refused that and told them I was contacting Better Business Bureau bc of all the problems with this car... Its very, very frustrating that we thought we were buying a reliable car and this car is more in the dealer than on the road.. The ending story to this is the supervisor from GM called me on Thurs 1/12/2012 giving me more a less a ultimatum of u either pay the $500.00 deductible or u can pay for the whole job $4,200.00 and the rental $38.00 a day, and the towing of my car to the dealer.. My husband and I don't feel we should pay ANYTHING!!! I'll never buy a car from there again, the service is horrible, they are a ripoff, and there are other people I've spoke with about that dealership that have bought cars from there also and that are not happy.. This car has been nothing but a headache! I'm a stay at home mother with 2 kids and my husband is the only income and we are just making ends meet like most but we are very unhappy with this car and we need help of trying to get our $500.00 back please!? Also the manager there offered us to pay the deductible and trade the car in so we thought, ok, maybe an even trade.. No!! they want us to pay the $500.00 deductuble then trade the car for another car payment, we can't afford another car payment, and in the future when I do purchase another vehicle it will definitely not be a Chevy and definitely not from that car dealership.. Thank u for listening and hopefully u can help us!! Rebecca Stafinski PS I've looked up transmitions and they are suppose to go anywhere between 10-12 yrs of owning the vehicle and they dnt believe its their fault and we do.. I'll even send the news station there!
