I was looking for better job personal assistant /receptionist job thru craiglist. I replied to their advertisement and they send me an email and told me that click on the link creditreport because they want me to bring the credit report with me for the interview. I provide my social my credit card info thru their website i went to credit report , i got my report but am scared that they also got all my info. now there is no response from theirside. What should I do ?

I applied for the same job. I got the following e-mail:
My name is Jilll Mayer head of the human resource department for JPW Corp and just wanted to update you on the job position you applied for through craigslist. I have looked over your resume and decided to have you shortlisted for the office admin position. I would like to schedule you for an interview sometime next week (tuesday if possible) as well as get you to complete the pre-interview requirements that all shortlisted candidates must complete before I can pencil in an interview date.
The position will require you to work in a high financial environment so it's our corporate policy that we do a financial verification check on all employees to verify applicant registration info. Its corporate policy that we have applicants sent through our link so we are compliant with the U.S employment standards act. http://jpw-corp.com/credit-check-jpw.php . It will re-direct you to the report site. Fill out the form and indicate that you want the free report and say no to the platinum monitoring option if they ask you. PLEASE DO NOT email us your report. Instead print it out and bring a copy to the interview as we will need to have it on file. Since this is just a pre-screen formality your actual score will not affect your chances of being hired.
Alongside that include:
-If you prefer a morning 8-12 or afternoon 1-5 interview
-2 references should we feel the need to contact them
-Report reference credit number
-The best number to reach you at to confirm your interview
Include the above information in your response email and please double check to make sure the information is accurate
Additionally, I will give you a tour of our offices, discuss pay structure and go over job duties. If you are no longer looking for employment please respond with your name and 'not interested' in the subject field so I can better shuffle through all the mail I get and take you off the applicant list. I did some research first, since it sounded fishy that I should have to provide the credit report, and stumbled across this, eventually replying with:
Hello there Jilll, (may want to check that spelling.)
I find it interesting that you say I must provide you with a credit check according to the U.S employment standards act, when, in fact, according to the Fair labor standards act, you are required to obtain a credit check yourself, after providing me with a FACTA form for me to sign and grant you permission to obtain said information. I apologize, but I am not willing to waste my 1 free score a year on providing you with this information when it is your responsibility to obtain it if you so desire.
Another interesting fact that I've found, is that your website lists 2 jobs, both out of broken arrow, yet there's no "jpw corp" listed in the fictitious names database for the state of Oklahoma, or the country, for that matter. Also, I find it interesting that you seem to be a company that communicates mostly online, and claim to be copyright since 2008, even though your (clearly amateur) website has only been in existence since January 4, 2012. Also, the website is registered as owned by someone in the Bahamas.

I will also be informing craigslist that they should look into this matter.
Chances are it is a scam, I'm not sure, but you may be able to report them to Creditreport.com as well and have their account with them closed so they can't get information from others. Good luck!
