I contacted several companion agencies from the internet, but Amber Companions http://www.ambercompanions.co.uk/ were definatley the most friendly and helpful. They even gave me their registered business address without me asking - something the other companies did not want to provide. The only reason I didn't sign up straight away was because I needed to wait for payday before I could afford their fees - £299 to include European work. Having been scammed before (by a man I married!) the cautious side of me decided to check out the address they had given me in Croydon - they are a business Park, the manager has worked there for several years and knows all his clients well; he had never heard of Amber Companions. I contacted AC again and they said that due to the nature of their work they needed to be discreet and were an advertising and marketing company - Bella Marketing. The business park only had one marketing company, not by this name. The only Bella Marketing that seems to be registered in England is based in Cheshire, not Croydon! The other thing I found suspicious was being asked "to go to the bank and pay the money into an account we will tell you - our business account". What legit company working over the phone in this day and age doesn't accept debit or credit cards or at the very least paypal? They had told me they charge the clients a booking fee - do they ask their busy business male clients "to go to the bank" - probably not as I doubt there are any clients! I am sure that the positive comments on here are self posted as if you were pleased with AC's service why would you find yourself on a scam site! I have never been on one before, but smelling a rat I googled AC. Thank you to everyone who has posted for saving me £299 - I too am a single mother etc. So sorry to those who have lost their money, they sound sound plausable.
