Dear Sir/Madam,
The is an internet property Website/Portal called PropertyWikia run by Brain Thomas and Julian Vincent. It is very smart in their marketing and listing properties is not what they are really about. They have gone worldwide selling the idea that if you list properties for sale by owners that you will receive £2000 when the property is sold if you listed it. However first you have to buy at last one listing area which costs about £173. You can buy more but this cost more money however their is a discount for buying multiple areas. They say they have over 7000 buyers own their database and they are looking for investments properties all over the world. I live in South Africa and they have at least conned 15 people that I know of.
They also advertise on their website called PropertyWikia.com brand name banks and credit companies for which they get revenue. They need traffic on the site to get paid per click and this is generated not by the sellers or buyers but by the Property Affiliates as we are called that sign on to earn money.
There real hook for everyone is that if they do not sell the property within 12 weeks they will pay the seller/landlord £100 per week plus the Affiliate who listed the property.
What they dont tell you is firstly they check at the end of 12 weeks if your property is worth what you are asking and if not you have 2 choices. 1. Accept PropertyWikias new price and start the 12 weeks again or 2. walk away with nothing.
Furthermore if you get past that which I have not heard of yet they only pay the £100 per week after 20 weeks which mean the seller has to wait 32 weeks to obtain his money which is also only paid out on the following month end. None of this information is documented obviously on the web site.
I spend over £720 (I bougth more areas) which I was told I would get back which has never occurred after doing all they ask for. I sent a termination letter and they said they would pay my money back which never happened, they also setup a specific procedure to terminate your link to propertywikia after I asked for my money back. I have tried many ways to contact propertywikia with no joy. They use PayPal and other low end ways of transferring money to them.
The database has numerous errors one of which makes it impossible to for a buyer to find a property they are looking for as the database design is firstly setup for the UK and secondly allows for any name to be typed in for a province, suburb etc by the seller/landlord entering his property for free.
The say the are back by the RMV group (RMV is the FTSE share code for the Rigthmove Uk property Company) which is false and many other people have done searches for company registration for PropertyWikia and background check on Brian Thomas and Julian Vincent.
Australia, NZ, South Africa have been hit by this scam and I dont see it stopping. The sellers get hurt and they feel lied to by us. I worked really hard and in South Africa we have to pay by the MB for data used on the Internet.

They keep a low profile and use MLM and Network Marketing techniques to hook another sucker to spend his basic startup money of $173 and expect to sell a house soon.
Furthermore there is an incentive to list 175 properties within 25 weeks and you will get around USD400,000 based upon the exchange rate but this is only once they have checked that all your properties are real, still for sale and of course at a right price which they determine. The whole con is full of ways and means of not paying anyone anything and you to keep plugging away at listing properties either yourself or via the seller/landlord which all generates web pafe traffic for them to collect from their advertisers. Many of the URL links did not even go to say Capital one.
