My daughter Nicole Smith(Helton) & now son-in-law James Helton in July 2011 went to Carolina Cakes & More to taste cakes,look at designs on cakes for their upcoming wedding which was on 11-26-2011 & decided to have them make their wedding cake.We paid in full well before the wedding.Now it's the day of the wedding,the wedding cake was suppose to be ready by 8:30 am the groom(James Helton) & groomsmen arrived around 11:30 am was told by owner cake was'nt ready, needed to wait around for about 1 hour.At that point was told cake was ready but the middle layer was still warm,Carolina Cakes snapped a picture of the cake and needed to realign it again.They traveled about 40 mins to reception location (Tides Folly Beach) took the cake into reception area & noticed the cake leaning backwards infact the top layer in the front of the cake was'nt even attached.We took pictures of this.,we couldn't believe this was happening also was afraid top layer would fall off so we decided to take the top layer off and sat it on another plate.Mother of the bride(Lori Smith) called Carolina Cakes & More very,very,upset at this point told her what was going on with the cake,what we needed to do & that she needed to send someone over to fix the wedding cake.She told me she didn't have anyone to send and she was working on another wedding cake so she couldn't come.This upset me even more that she didn't care how this is affecting the most important day in someones life,and she just left us hanging in this situation and frankly didn't give a damn at this point we both started yelling. I told her she rushed and did a bad job on the cake thats why it's falling apart,and she yelled and told me "I WAS TOO CHEAP TO PAY THE DELIVERY CHARGE AND THATS WHY THIS HAPPENED"!!!! Than she started making all kinds of excusses such as she didn't know how they were driving,the tempature in the car ,etc,which all of that was bull in this case,the car is new & the air conditioning was on,temp outside was around 72 degrees & breezy and why would someone try to ruin their own wedding cake that we paid that much money for???AND HAVE THAT CAKE IN THE WEDDING PICTURES THAT JUST DOESN;T MAKE SENSE, BUT WHAT DOES MAKE SENSE IS THAT THE CAKE WAS WARM & THE ICING MELTED WHICH IS WHY ALL OF THIS HAPPENED,THE CAKE WASN'T READY AT THE SCHEDULED PICK UP TIME !!!!IF ALL OF THIS WASN'T BAD ENOUGH THE CAKE DIDN'T LOOK LIKE A PROFESSIONAL CAKE PLACE MADE IT(I DO HAVE PICTURES & MY DAUGHTER DID PUT A COMMENT & PICTURES ON CAROLINA CAKES & MORE PAGE )& THEN TO TOP IT OFF THE CAKES BOTH FLAVORS VERY,VERY,VERY DRY,DIDN'T TASTE GOOD AT ALL,PROBABLY ONE OF THE WORST CAKES I'VE EVER HAD,THEY WERE OVER BAKED!!!!I DON'T THINK THIS BUSINESS PLACE SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO THIS TO ANYONE OR AT LEAST ANYONE ELSE ,PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT ANY QUESTIONS CALL (Personal Information Removed) thank you for your time
