We are in the process of a large renovation, which includes a new kitchen. We chose to go with Scullery & Holz because the owner, Stefan Mayer, was very responsive......up until the time he got our deposit money. After that he failed to return calls prompting us to visit his shop on Willoughby Rd only to discover that the company had been put into liquidation. This means he took our deposit while insolvent, knowing he could never fulfill our order. After several calls, we finally reached him. He promised to return our money right away. It has not been a month and we haven't seen any of the $20,000 we paid him. Everytime we call, he has a new excuse. We've since read several other posts from people to whom he has done the exact same thing: taken a deposit and not even attempted to perform.
We have complained the the Office of Fair Trading, scamwatch and ASIC. If you have also been a victim of Stefan Mayer's scam, please contact these organisations. The more complaints they have, the faster they will act.
