My son was supposed to take my vehicle to firestone to have two of my tires checked because they were losing air, and going flat. I wanted to know if they could be repaired, or if I needed to purchase new ones. He received an estimate, but did not call me or have Firestone do any work. He took my vehicle to Don Stevens tire without my knowledge. He brought my vehicle back to me, and told me he had two new snow tires put on my vehicle. I believed him. This was on 12/23/2011. On 12/31/11, I went to use my vehicle to go to my daughters home, and the front right hand tire, was almost flat. I immediately went to Firestone, thinking they had did the tires, but finding out they had not. They looked at the front tires, and told me they were probably snow tires, however they were 10 years old. They put air in my tire, and I drove carefully to my daughters home in Middletown. The next morning the tire was almost flat again, so we went to Firestone in Middletown, and we had two new all weather tires put on my vehicle, at a cost of $322.63. I notified my son as to what happened, and he gave me his receipts for the old tires that were put on a week before. I called Don Stevens, and they told me they wanted the old tires back to credit my son for the flat tire after one week. I said of course I don't have the tires. they were removed when I had paid $322.63 for new tires, because their tire went flat after 1 week. Was I supposed to put the old tires in my car, and return them to you. The woman at Don Stevens, said the flat could have been caused by a bad rim, or a faulty valve, or something wrong with my vehicle, and not something wrong with their ten year old tires. I said, This is how you do business, and she hung up on me.
