Description of Complaint: My nephew is custodian of my 2006 Winnebago Outlook motor home, and it is he who delivered the vehicle to ConsignRent in 2010 to be rented. In December of that year, while the vehicle was rented to a customer of Consign Rent, it sustained damage during a vehicle accident. According to Consign Rent, the vehicle was removed from service for repairs, and I have later learned that a claim was made against the insurer and a repair claim paid. Over the following months, completion of repairs was promised by Consign Rent (aka Houston RV Center), repeatedly, but they have never been completed. Various reasons have been offered when the firm's contact agents can be reached and provide reply, and various dates for release of the vehicle have come and gone without the vehicle being restored to service. When my nephew provided them with details on parts ordering and source, after 6 months of delay, and they obtained them, they still could not complete repairs, and state new serious damage was discoverd. During these delays I eventually canceled the RV rental contract agreement I had with them, let its registration lapse, and canceled insurance coverage. Hopeful that the string of delays in repairing and releasing my vehicle was at an end, I recently reregistered the vehicle in Georgia, and reinstituted insurance coverage, with another carrier. I last spoke with the owner, Robert Ferguson, about three weeks ago, and he promised to have the vehicle ready for release within a week. I gave him a final deadline of December 19, and my nephew Dwight arranged for an associate to obtain the motor home from Consign Rent. Dwight now informs me that calls to the company regarding the vehicle have gone unanswered and, when last viewed, it was still in a state of disrepair. We are currently unable to learn of its current location, or secure information of when and where we may recover it, fully repaired or not, so that we may have the repairs completed on our own.
