I was sent a letter with a check for 1,995.19 made out to me. They said I had been selected because I had responded to an online survey which was my first red flag. I do not take any surveys online.

They said I was to be a secret shopper to evaluate Walmart, JCPenney, and Western Union. I was to wire $1550.00 with a $105.00 service fee. Western Union was my second red flag. They require cash for such a transaction.

They wanted all this done in 48 hours. that was the 3rd red flag. The 4th red flag popped up when they asked me not to discuss this so called assignment with the stores or THE BANK but it said nothing about evaluating a bank. They must mean my bank where I run their fake check through my account.

Banks have holds on deposited checks and all of them are more than 48 hours. So if I had rushed out to do this which I really wanted to do, who doesn't need an extra $270.00 easy money,it would have had to be my own money that was used for all these transactions. Then when the check didn't clear to reimburse me I'd be out of luck.

This is a awful scam that I am sure bilked many people out of money they needed. I hope they are found and stopped. But there will always be another scam. People are gullible and they forget that if it seems too good to be true then it probably is.
