I have noticed that my cap on my Optus account has been over the limit for past 2 months. I rang Optus and they told me that I had a weekly charge of $4.55 from Dada Mobile not eligible for plan. They gave me the contact details of Dada Mobile which was 1800178017. Upon calling them, I was told that I had subscribed to their service and that I was receiving weekly SMS messages which I had been replying to.

I advised them I had never subscribed to their service...not at all! The customer service rep insisted I had. The problem is that the charges are on my Optus phone bill, which I am required to pay in full upfront.

Optus informed me that the burden is on me to request for a refund from Dada/Waala, which is so inconvenient and unfair to the Optus service subscriber.

I have called Waala/Dada and after providing them with my contact details, they informed me that I will receive an e-mail from their billing department to confirm receipt of my complaint.

They informed me that typically, it takes 14 working days to get a check for the refund---that is IF the refund has been approved!

Lastly, I asked the Dada/Waala customer service rep on the phone how do people like us get into this type of situation with teir company? Her response was that "Most people click on "FREE Ringtone" or "FREE wallpaper" buttons without knowing that they get directed to Dada/Waala and they just click continue without reading the terms and conditions, which states that this involves a paid subscription."

Clearly this is misrepresentation or False advertising because they use the word FREE... her response to that? "Yes I guess so"

I am sooo upset with this one! Can action legal action be taken against this company--Waala/Dada Mobile?
