Yesterday I signed up for a card similar to this called horizon gold...they dont get a very good wrap either but i atleased knew what i was getting myself into. So today i all of the sudden get a phonecall from what i assumed was horizon, it soundedlike the same thing, only he told me is was a genuine credit card NOT a catalog/website card...his exact words...well i smelt the BS and asked him some things..(they already had handy my account number etc.)i asked for their number to reach them and website...he gave them to me but kept simply saying what day can i charge the intoductary fee.. I told him i needed to research his company first and he rest assured me i could STOP the fee if i scheduled it for example..thursday. i agreed to do so thinking if they had the power to take your money like that of course they can stop it. I never agreed on the phone to the card, never was read terms and conditions, but of course curiousity got the bestof me saying this guy was telling the truth. I googled the company and OMG i cant believe this place is in business!!!I noticed they are probably changing their name, since complaints start pouring in the last month basically. Of course right away i tried contacting them to stop the payment from thursday, and all i got was email addresses and recordings. I left nasty emails and messages and have no response, but im not taking the risk of these bastards stealing from me..so tomarrow im changing my account number due to fraud. It is absolutely illegal to take money in the manner they are(lying about what you're getting, leaving people with no options who are caught off guard by a deceptive phonecall, then they cant cancel something that hasnt even started!?!?!SCAM SCAM SCAM)...and i also called the horizon gold card to cancel because they had to have sold my info to these jokes, even though they claimed to not know them and arent affiliated...MY (Inappropriate Content Removed)!!!! I never went seeking for this company,and although i didnt entirely fall for their trap i now have to go change my account info which will cost me time and money(gas, new checks, etc,) but imfortunate i havent been ripped off and i hope those a**holes call me back when the payment doesnt process so i can give them a real piece of my mind....
