I was looking to get a government grant. I saw an add for My-Grant-Kit.com. There was a story of a man named Kevin from Cleveland, OH who applied for a grant and within 2 weeks received a grant worth over $14,000. I thought, "what would it hurt?" So, I signed up. Little did I know that they would charge my VISA 4 different times. The first charge I knew about because it was the initial fee of $2.97 to get access to the grant kit website. But...they charged me 3 more times. So, this is the order of their charges on my credit card (and my bank charged me 3 overdrafts for 3 of these items. You see, I had enough to cover the fee of $2.97 but not the other 3). Anyway, the first charge was for 7 cents on 11/29, the second charge was for $2.97 on 11/29, the third charge was for $1.61 on 11/30 and the fourth charge was for $57.61 on 11/30.
I have already sent them 2 emails, but the first email was spelled incorrectly. So, I checked the email address that they gave me, and got it right this time. I did receive an email telling me that this email did not exist (the one that I mis-spelled). I checked my spelling and sent out another email to the correct email address. Hopefully, I will get a full refund of all charges.
When I called 1-866-459-0099 I was thinking I would talk to an American. The woman who answered the phone was clearly not American. She spoke with a heavy middle-eastern acccent.
So, don't trust everything you read.
