I applied for a loan for the amount of $5000 i recievec a call from lakepoint that my loan was approve but i needed to seen them 5 payments up front to show good faith so i sent $887.00 and 1st then they came back and said that the lender is requestion $1000 up front for insurence protection on the loan so they had me wire another payment for $1000 which i borrow still no loan in my account no they are saying that the lender wants the loan insurence to be insured addition $1000 which would be $2887.00 up front for a $5000 loan i finally got mad and hung up.

Hi my name is Jeff Peters I recieved a call from Mike 2 weeks ago, I applied online for this loan not in person. I was told I had to secure 5 months of payment down on the loan totalling $887 which I ended up doing last Thursday Dec 1st, 2011. I was guaranteed funding withing 1 business day. I checked my online bank account actually after 12 midnight as instructed by Mike and the $5000.00 was indeed posted to my account. I at first had doubts since you hear alot of online companies who are bogus, but I am a satisfied customer of Lake Point and I told Mike that if I got the money I would post a positive review online so that I can share my experience with others who also might have doubts like I did.
This loan has definately got me back on track with my finances, and I am now on the path to financial recovery, I paid off all my debts with the $5000.00 and now have a very low monthly payment at a very low rate. I couldnt be happier and thankful for this opportunity that came to me. The service has been wonderful, my agent and the customer service rep was extremmmmmely good to me, my agent also walked me through the entire process to make certain I made no mistakes that way I got the money on time.
As per the report made above, I contacted the company to ask why this person above had a bad experience, they stated that she checked off that she wanted to get the insurance, and signed the contract but then couldnt come up with the full payment, and since the contract is legally binding and was signed by her, she is obligated to fulfill her end of the bargain which she wasnt too happy with. They also stated that she was offered a refund, but insisted she wanted the loan and wanted to have the terms changed after the contract was already signed by her.
Unfortunately, when a contract is signed, and as stated by lake point, once the contract is signed it becomes legally binding as stated in the contract, and they have to fullfill there end of the agreement and so does the customer. So I totally understand the legality of the issue this lady is having, but the law comes first, and you should not opt for insurance if you dont want to pay for it. Once the agreement is signed they reserve funding and it becomes legally binding so I totally understand what Mike explained to me makes total sense.
Well, personally I will definately recommend Lake Point to my friends and family as my experience with the company was superb. Everything I was promised and guaranteed came through as set forth in my agreement and I couldnt be any happier

sound like to me jeff works for the company for one why in the hell would you go out your way to call the company concerned about my experince when you dont evan know me for two you clain they told you i checked the insurance box but wasnt able to come up with the money NOT for one i have my contract in front of me i did signed it but i did not check any insurence box and its still not check hello if i was going to check anything it would have been the box that i would not be insuring my loan so Jeffpeters you look and sound dumb as Fuck if that is your name im convinced that Shawn Ray/mike/and Jeffpeters are all the same damm person B.Davis

- I agree with you B.Davis 100% he is either working for them or the same person I have my contract also here right un front of me & I most ceartinly did nor check for insurance & then hes saying they dudnt receive the loan bcuz they checkef the box for insurance what about the people that sent them the 5 payments 1000 for insurance another 1000 for insurance & still being asked for more money so to you jeff peters are whoever you are quit lying for LAKEPOINT LOAN SERVICE its bad enough me along with others have to see the disappointment on our childrens faces christmas morning,farther behind on bills & more on top of that bcuz of LAKEPOINT LOAN SERVICE & your steady trying to rill people in I ADVICE EVERYONE PLEASE DO NOT BECOME A VICTIM LIKE US ITS A SCAM I have 5 small boys & my wife & I cried ourselves ro sleep when this happened so please BE VERY WISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- i understand how you feel i have two small kids as well its a good thing that i start christmas shopping early and i got a lot of help from my parents but it put me in a bind with bills and now i owe every body all of $1900 that i had to borrow to send these people and the one rep there mike even went as far as to say "im a christian i would not sleep at night scamming people" he knew that i was sending thing my last my bill money that was due the day i sent them the money because they promised that the money would be in my account that Day i dont see how these people or person sleep at night doing this to people right before christmas me i cried my self to sleep for a whole week/ i couldnt eat cause my nerves was so bad i even call my local new station and had a face to face interview on the new to make this situation public so that they dont GET other people like Us I will be Praying for you and my household as well Hopefully we get this Situation ressolved. - Hey BDavis go to IC3.GOV & file this complaint i went and reviewed the complaints & there someone who posted one yesterday he said he filed it with IC3.GOV & we all should do so they are FBI investergators the more of us that file the quicker we get help good luck....lets keep praying

- I made a complaint to IC3.GOV as well. I also called the Rhode Island State police, this company does not a real company in Rhode Island. I had previously called Green Dot when I figured I was being ripped off. They gave me their legal departments number to give to authorities. The officer I spoke with said she would call Green Dot and call me back. That was early this evening. We need to have a victim total of $1 millon to get the FBI to help us.
