I joined a weight loss competition at the Rockstar Kettlebell Gym, LLC in Osceola, IN. The rules of the competition were very simple and very clearly spelled out. The entry fee was $150. The competition began on October 10, 2011 and ended on November 20, 2011. The parameters of determining the winner were by determining percentage of actual weight loss. Any tie breaker would be determined through body fat. I lost 14.45% of my body weight. I was told by the gym owner that my closest competition lost 13.7% of body weight. I was clearly the winner. But, I was also told by the club owner, that regardless of the specified parameters for determining the winner, they decided after the final weigh-in, and after determining that I had lost the most percentage of body weight, that they were going to add taped body measurements as a parameter (such as waste, hips, etc) and ignore body fat (and ignore the fact that I had the highest percentage of weight loss.) The prize for first place was an ipad 2 32gb and was given to the 2nd place contestant and not to me.
