I was trying to find the owner of a trailer that is in my possession. The site promised to find the title information including the current owner and title history. All they did was take your credit card information and then forward you to freecarfax.net which only provided one issue date for the title, no owner information and no other title information that should show at least 16 more years of a title history.

Dear Client,
VinAlert never indicated on our website that we have the owner information and name. Actually neither does carfax or autocheck and other competitors. We gave you a sample report and a list of all the items that are checked for in the report.
If you did not read this info then you won't know what to expect and might feel scammed.
We applogize for the inconvenience but our site clearly said we do not have the full history of every vin. we did not promise to give the full history, only what we do have and you purchased the data we have not what you imagined we have.
