After being on a medical LOA, I was desperate for additional funds, and bit the bullet and filled out an online app for one of those "1500.00" payday loans. Unbeknownst to me, the app I was filling out which I thought was for ONE company, turns out was a "one stop shop" site, that actually distributes your information to multiple lenders. That site is [cashcall.com]!!!

Well I ended up securing 2 loans. One through cashcall, and the other through Western Sky (the company with the Native American man in it?). Exactly one week after the money was wired into my account, I received a phone call from "Jackson Law Firm", 972-348-8745. Since I didn't recognize the number I let it go to Vmail. It was some fool with a thick middle-eastern accent, telling me that he was calling from a law firm, I needed to call them back, legal action, so on and so on. So I called them back, another man named "Kenneth", who spoke SLIGHTLY better english, placed me on hold for about 30 seconds, he comes back and begins rattling off MY INFORMATION!!! My address, SSN, routing NO to my bank, and even my email address, which I had only divulged to Western Sky!! He then goes on to tell me I took out a 500.00 loan in SEPT of THIS YEAR . . . that I did not pay back, and as a result I was being sued. He then asked me if I had an attorney. I proceeded to basically just go off on him.

I asked him what was the name of the company I got the money from? He told me it was "Cash Advance America", NO SUCH COMPANY! When was the money wired to my account? He just kept saying "September, 2011". When I kept pressing him to tell me WHEN in September 2011, he couldn't answer, but he kept telling me the name of my bank and the routing number [NOT THE ACCT NO! - THANK GOD!!] So the louder, and more profane I got, the more rattled and off script he got. By this time, I knew it was a scam!!! Being a homebody, and watching enough investigative news shows has it's advantages!!! What I was and am still pissed off about is, somehow this bastard got my personal information!!!

After yelling at him and berating HIM for about 2 more minutes, I hung up the phone, then I Googled the number he was calling from, and guess what it returned?!?! So following the advice of another websites message board (much like this one), I filed a complaint with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission), I called Equifax's fraud 800 number, they in turn alerted the other two credit bureau's on my behalf. I also called my bank and put a couple of safe guards in place, and I contacted my states ATTY GEN's office. After all that . . . would you believe this prick called me again from 310-933-0195?!?! I let it go to Vmail, same raggedy ***hole left me a message talking the same crap!!! This time I called back using *67. This time "Kenneth", said that he worked for some "Legislative" something or other, and said they were a law firm. But now, he said his name was "ATTY: David Cooper." He asked me what number did they call, I told him, and then he verified my name. After that he proceeded to tell me that I was being sued for an outstanding debt, and they had an affidavit, so on and so on. I told him . . . that if he were a real attorney, he wouldn't be calling me on a Saturday morning, and I would've received an affidavit, NOT A PHONE CALL!!! He then said "Thank you for your time." and hung up!!! I tried to call back again, but he keeps hanging up.

My advice to anybody who reads this? Call your cell phone or landline phone company, report the phone number or numbers to them so they can trace them. It's a long shot, but it's a start. Also, file a police report with local authorities. Better yet, file a police report with local authorities, and have THEM contact your cell or landline company for you or with you on the phone. If they call you, don't verify ANY information with them, even if they are reading the information to you! They may have your SSN, or your bank routing number, but honestly? They are so stupid they won't know what to do with it! Just deny everything, tell them they have the wrong number, BUT STILL REPORT IT!!! In essence, do not engage these people!!! Another thing, I have an Android phone, so I downloaded a free app called BLACKLIST . . . IT - WORKS!!! Both numbers have been blocked. They will just have to keep calling from different numbers, and I will just have to keep cussing them out, blocking their numbers, and reporting them. It gets tedious, but hopefully someday, the powers that be will have the authority and reach to go to wherever these pricks are and snatch them up!!!

One last thing, be cognizant of ALL of your financial transactions! Watch your bank statements that you get in the mail, and go online regularly and check your account(s). Lastly, STAY AWAY FROM ONLINE PAYDAY LENDERS!!! Especially CASHCALL.COM!!!
