Engine and Transmission World advertised a 2001 4.0 Land Rover V8 motor as clean low mile and in tip top condition fully tested and ready to install and run. When I unwrapped the motor they had sent I found a junk motor they had sprayed over with silver paint to make it look clean. When I removed the valve covers the whole valve train was completely caked with solidified sludge. I removed the intake manifold and found the lifters and rods rusted and seized. When I removed the heads I found all the cylinders rust and filled with ATF in an attempt to break the pistons free: this motor could never have been tested as it is not is running condition. When I removed the oil pan I found that the motor had to have been sitting in and had flooded with water as the crankshaft, connecting rods and bearings were also completely rusted. This motor would not be any good without a complete rebuild and that might not be possible with everything that is rusted. I contacted EATW as soon as I discovered they had ripped me off. I want a complete refund including shipping charges: they will not honor their warrantee and their return policy is void because they did not send me the engine as advertised. They are crooks and have been doing this for years. They are under investigation by the WI. USDOJ for criminal activity. They owe me a complete refund of $2070.00 They should pay punitive damages as well but I doubt that will happen. These people should be behind bars; I suspect someday they will be. With a little research I could have saved myself a lot of money and heartache; I feel just terrible and foolish. I deserve my money back.
