Roy Creamer known as the Appliance Whisperer was called to fix a fridge for my girlfriends parents (her mom is 76 and her dad is 81). He came round and said it will cost $418 which is very high but there is no law about over charging. However, he repeatedly did not turn up to fix the fridge and gave excuses every time. Finally he said he would definitely arrive on Friday night between 5 and 7 pm. At around 7.30 he had not arrived so I said I would call him to see whats going on. I called him but he did not pick up, so I called him every 10 minutes for two hours or so and every time he did not pick up. What he did do though was to change he voicemail message to "you who I am and what you can do"!!! I knew from the start that he had no intention of turning up so I then Googled "The appliance whisperer" and looked at the reviews left by others that had the misfortune of using Roy Creamer. The majority of the reviews said that he took payment upfront and never returned. Many of the people he took money from were the elderly who are easy pickings for guys like him and will most likely not do anything about it. Other reviews said that when he did turn up he put the wrong parts in so the issue was was fixed and he even charged more money to fix the thing he had not fixed and blamed the part not his work! This guy must be stopped!! He has been doing this for a very long time so I wonder how many people he has scammed out of money but have not reported it or put reviews on line. Many older people are not good at posting reviews or even telling their family members about things like this as they feel ashamed or embarrassed. This guy needs to be stopped, all the money he has fraudulently taken returned and put behind bars! Please can someone do something about Roy Creamer. Finally, he did call back on Sunday night saying he has been very busy and he would come round the next day to fix the fridge. Why did he do this? Because I texted him saying that I found out where his business is and we were going to the Police! If he had the time to change his voicemail message he had time to call. In fact he had all day Saturday and Sunday to call, it only takes a few seconds. He could of called on Friday night too of course! Please stop this man from doing what he has been doing for too long.
