I received an offer of $50.00 gas coupon with a phone number to collect it. I called and accepted the deal as explained. I believed I would be receiving in the mail, coupons and information on how to receive my gas rebates and how to use the program. I am 82 years old and at times don't quite know what is being said but I thought that I understood correctly. I was to receive information in the mail and had a certain length of time to try it for the $1.9 I was charged for each program. I never received the package to this date. On April 5th I called and spoke to a service representative explaining I wanted out of both programs as I had no idea how to go about using it without some sort of ID. They said I was cancelling late and I have found they have charged me for something that they knew the postal service would not get delivered, especially with Easter holidays in that time frame. Now, in reading other person's complaints, I realize we have all "been had". So I'm old fashioned. Most of the computer gimmicks is that you have to give all your information before you get to read that, "small print". Even if you do not accept they have your information. These trial offers are ***** as they rely on people not checking their monthly statements, loosing phone numbers, late postal service. Sale persons are most informative to highlighting what they sell and gloss over what the trial time limits are etc...and how to cancel.
I have spoken to several individuals and this morning I spoke to someone in billing. I am offended in that she spoke as if I was sort of a moron for not "understanding". Bottom line is that it is costing me $53.49 Canadian funds even though it was THEIR error in not providing me with the documentation I needed to begin with. Said documentation arrived here mid April, well after the date I cancelled on April 5th.
I am so angry at the way they prey on people, believing (and rightfully so) that many of us would become victims of their shady practices.
