Walmart checkout terminal malfunctions, attendant reset and transaction completed. Attendant stated only one debit charge was completed. Transaction receipt showed that a debit attempt was cancelled and then completed. On Bank statement two entry charges were posted. Customer service at local store said they could do nothing asserting it would automatically be corrected and a one of the charges would be refunded. After two weeks, it has not happened. I contacted Walmart Corporate site via email and they noted the complaint was noted but has not rendered a refund. There are are no procedures implemented to process such overcharging refund requests. Buyers should be aware that using the self-checkout terminals at a Walmart store do not have process/procedure in place to refund a duplicate charge as I discovered. Store personnel are not authorized to correct terminal malfunctions that facilitate double charging. My advice is never use a self-checkout terminal. If such malfunction occurs at the regular checkout, errors can be accommodated on the spot but at the self-check facility they cannot, relying on "corporate" processes that do not exist to process a refund request.
