This is the e-mail I sent them after not having been responded to twice before even though they "guarantee" to get back to feedback in "15 minutes!" Their "Live Chat" is also ALWAYS disabled, who would've guessed.

First of all, I feel like I was misled into joining dealfun by your "supposed" recent auctions with ipad2's selling for $40. I bit, and in that case your marketing won. So once I joined the site, I thought I'm stuck now, so let me see how this works. I went with the $100 bid pack because of the "Win Guarantee" and the bids being reimbursed if you don't win. After that, I found the ipad2 and decided to start bidding. I was shocked to find the retail price grossly overstated at $699. The ipad2 16-GB can be found for $500 on any retail site online right now. So to state that you can buy now at $519.99 at a 25% discount is a lie. But still, I continued forward to try and give it a chance. I was encouraged knowing that with your video, it says each bid I use takes off .60 cents towards the bid price so at the end if I can't get a good deal I'll just hit the "BUY NOW" option. At the time of bidding I had 240 bids and the starting DealFun price was $519.99. So based on the calculation of 240 bids at .60 cents each I should've been able to knock off $144 from the $519.99 and get the ipad2 for $375.99 with the $100 bid pack initial purchase at a total cost to me of $475.99 which would be an actual savings of about $25 on the actual retail price of $500, which I felt was still a deal. I was completely shocked and disappointed when I spent all of my bids and the price was only dropped to $456. This again, was a lie compared to what your "How it works" video says the bids work. So I thought, okay give it another day and wait for the bids to be reimbursed. I have yet to have those bids refilled to my account and you can add the "win guarantee" to the list of deceiving things that I have dealt with so far.

I tried finding a phone number, but this was the only option I was given. At this point, I'm frustrated with the whole experience and would like my $100 investment back. I feel that from the beginning it is a bunch of deception and to be honest, very well played by your people to reel people into this. If I can't get my $100 back, then all I'm asking is that you sell me the ipad2 at the $375.99 it should've been given to me at as the "Buy Now" option with the free shipping as advertised. If you need to speak with me directly, my number is xxx-xxx-xxxx. I look forward to resolving this issue very soon.

P.S. I sent an e-mail about this yesterday and it has still not been responded too, which the 15 minute response, is yet another promise you aren't keeping.

  • Since posting this, I've received an e-mail from DealFun that they are reimbursing me the $99 since I didn't enjoy my experience with them. I will follow up if they really do reimburse the money or not.
