I ordered on line what I thought was a trail offer for a nominal charge ~$4.95. Later my credit card acct was debited for $98.41. I called 1.888.53536 to challenge the the charge. A fast talking phone contact person read in a rapid nearly impossible to understand, reason why I should not cancel my order. I repeatedly, as kindly as I could, asked for the "bottom line" cost to me at this point in the process (I thought this feels like a scam). The answer I received was "$98.41". My request to talk with someone why might have cost digression was met with more unintelligible scripted talk and a hang up. I will follow up with a States Attorney consumer complaint in Florida and New York.Also I'll do my best to alert fellow internet shoppers to be alert to the manipulation designed to "catch consumers". It may be illegal. I will find out.
