I had a window pop up claiming to be from Microsoft, it also came with a very vocal sound message saying i was being hacked. It informed me that if i didn't ring the number provided my information would be sent to the police and i could be brought up on charges. At this time i couldn't close the window and it also told me if i did not take action and call the number i would be in major trouble legally. Normally i would just shut down my computer as i know about these scams, however this happened on a day i wasn't in the right state of mind and fell right in. I rang the number and got an guy with an Indian accent clamming to be from Microsoft and telling me i have people hacking not my computer but my IP address. Now i know a bit about computers but not a great amount, and i got confused fast more so because he was using scar tactics telling me if i didn't let them fix the problem and pay them $199 USD all my bank details and everything else could be at risk. He told me they would put a governmental program on my computer to protect my IP address, and I fell hook line and sinker. He then transferred me to a person who gained access to my computer and as i watched what he did i realized he was just downloading cheap programs that are suppose to find and get rid of Trojans and malware. I said wait a minute this isn't what i was told would be happening. He transferred me to a woman in billing who then told me they were not from Microsoft but a third party that works for Microsoft. She some how talked me into continuing the work, as i said i wasn't in the right state of mind that day and was a big sucker. after they said the work was done i realized i had not got anything they had promised and had just paid for something even i could have done free of charge. they tried to get me to sign a document about services received. By this stage i was awake and said no i will not sign as i did not get anything promised and i have been bullied and lied to so will not sign. I have since notified Microsoft and my bank who are now disputing the payment. Now however i may have to change my number soon as the company is harassing me to sign this document of services rendered. Please Please people don't end up like me, if you hear or see the name Dial Port Solutions hang up and don't fall for it. I feel ashamed of myself for falling for this scam and if i don't get them money back then fine its the payment i will have to pay to learn a valuable lesson. You can't trust anyone, everyone is out for themselves and won't step on you just to get in front.
