I am a contestant who competed in Our Diamond Miss Prelims starting in October of 2015 and few times in early 2016 everything was organized and I enjoyed because at these prelims everyone is awarded and crowned fun? Yes! Okay then they invited me to attend State which was many many hours away from where I live and lets not forget the OUTRAGEOUS state fee's just to compete $300+ absolutely ridiculous and they wanted me to stay in the state hotel which I did and it was $99 a night I was l stayed because I spent so much time fundraising and even when I turned in my fee's for state I had to take money out of my pocket also to pay for these fee's I did go on to win a state title and was told I would have to go to Oklahoma and compete in Nationals to keep my title which was no big deal you compete nationally in most pageants system but what was even more ridiculous was that this pageant was less then a month away how do they expect us to get that type of money in less then a month not all of us live close to Oklahoma and nationals was for a full WEEK I couldn't afford staying at the high price hotel that the other girls were staying at so I stayed at another hotel a little cheaper, still coming out to around $550+. The fee's for Nationals gave me heart attacks for each photo you entered during registration for nationals cost around $50 and the whole price just for entering come out to around $500 absolutely RIDICULOUS and lets us put this out there, at the competition there was over 115 contestants so it took all day just to go through 1 section of the pageant the week went by and I started noticing things the contestants there went all out on there outfits and competition wardrobe I was new the system and did not know to expect, to my state directors who have been to the pageant before and seen how competitively the girls there compete should of let us know what to expect in a way they set us up for failure there was so many walking patterns and outfit choices I didn't know about, if they expect girls from there state to win a national title we need to train better newbies going against experienced girls who have done this their whole life, my whole trip was A WASTE OF MONEY the only reason I went was to keep my state title, but I wouldn't suggest this system unless you can come up with ridiculous amounts of money or can afford a pageant and talent coach unless your child or you are some type of pageant natural I'll suggest doing Ultimate Dream Queen/ Dream Face with Edie Kleins system so you can save money and whoever is competing can have a good time and in no way am I speaking bad about this system I just think the prices are outrageous and your chances of actually winning are so so so slim.
