My husband fell for this phone call . He sent money expecting to receive money back....millions, they tempted him with.
When it started, I was out of town. I knew nothing about it until he broke the news upon my return.
He continued to send money, even though I pleaded with him not to.
Postal inspectors intercepted one of his mailings.....$2000 to a lady in Montgomery.
Wells Fargo showed me copy of a cancelled check he had written to a Patricia Connelly for $8000. ( The scammers have a connection to Wells Fargo Bank, somehow.) Attempts, of course, were made on extracting money out of his account, as he foolishly sent a check with his account number.
Very stressful dealing with these crooks. I have talked very ugly to them on the phone. Doesn't seem to faze them. STill calling. No attempt on our end to change phone number.....too much trouble. Bank accounts frozen.....trouble, but worth it. Jamaica is my guess of their location. He called (193 minutes) to Jamaica, as reflected on my phone bill.
