I received a call from a representative (Ashland) who said she can reduce my AT&T Mobile account monthly cost & that I would gain an additional 1GB of data + a free 8" tablet. if I provided her with personal info including my Social Security number, which I did. When I informed my wife, she was aghast that I gave her my SS#. Ashland said that I would have to switch may Personal to a Business account., which I agree to. She then said she would call me back in 15 minutes, which she did, but told me that the change could NOT be processed unless I paid off my monthly phone of approximately $48. I told her to CANCEL the change and to SHRED my SS#. When asked if she was employee of AT&T, she said "NO", but was employed by Sunshine Communication and that I could call her at 1-855.715.0624. Now I wondering if her call was made to gain my personal info & SS# that could be resold to HACKERS? Is it possible for someone to check out the company & the above phone number? Any help will be appreciated. THANK YOU.
