A man came to door saying he was doing a work rehab program selling magazines. I felt pity for him and agreed to buy two magazines. The price was $196 which I felt was very expensive for 1 year of magazines, but felt it was for good cause, so paid.
Later my wife felt it was a scam, so we placed a stop payment on the check. The guy changed the check to say $496 and deposited it. Really glad we placed stop order on the check.
